LIKE A SKIN OF COAL
In his photographic approach with analog films, the artist wishes to use elements that contribute to pollution and global warming (i.e. coal), in the process of developing his photos of glaciers, taken with a manual analog Hasselblad on the back square in 6x6 format, in order to give meaning to its approach and further raise public awareness of this reality. The results are impressive, they present deep blacks with a unique character that almost takes you back to painting.
Two incomparable printing processes exist, either the traditional charcoal printing process from Fresson (Paris) or charcoal ink printing (Piezography), based on scans of the negatives.
All of the artist's photos are limited editions and can be acquired in the formats and on the supports offered in museum exhibitions or in the artist's galleries. Outside of these exhibitions, please contact the artist for any interest or request for details and quotes: bernard@garo.ch
